Educational Field Trips

2016 Fall Activities

The annual Faranda Farm Fall Fieldtrips will explore the llama and the alpaca. We will feed
the animals that will provide wool for clothing. We will  discuss the habits of these animals as well as demonstrate the washing, carding, spinning the weaving of the wool.
The educational field trips are available to all child care centers, school groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, church groups and other organizations for a fun time at the farm. Field trips include:
• Hay ride
• Feeding the Llamas
• “Llama to Loom” or Story Time
• Small Pie Pumpkin
• Hay maze, duck races, and other fun activities
• Snack of cider & popcorn
• Craft Project
Since 2008, the cost remains
at $7 per person.

Faranda Farm Supports AITC

Faranda Farm supports Ag in the Classroom (AITC). Mary has completed both week long seminars offered by PA Farm Bureau at Penn State.  Mary has a BS in education from IUP and has been teaching on the farm for 20 years.
